SHELBY — The City of Shelby is seeking lateral transfer candidates for a full time firefighter/paramedic position.
At the time of application, candidates must have a minimum of one year of experience as a Firefighter Level II/ Paramedic and be certified and in good standing as a Level II Firefighter and Paramedic with the State of Ohio. Candidates must have a satisfactory record of employment with another jurisdiction as a firefighter.
Each candidate must presently be, or at the time of his/her hire at their current department of employment, between the age of 18 and 31. If considered for hire, the candidate must pass a medical examination, physical abilities test, drug testing, background check and psychological evaluation.
The base salary range is $42,000 to $50,000. Additional wage opportunities include: holiday pay, certification pay, longevity pay, uniform allowance and overtime opportunities. The City of Shelby also offers other benefits.
Entry rate is based on experience, skills, knowledge and abilities.
