MANSFIELD, Ohio — Both suspects in Patsy Hudson’s disappearance, Walter T. Renz and Linda Buckner, have been bound over to the Richland County grand jury.
According to the Mansfield Municipal Clerk of Courts, Buckner waived her right for a preliminary hearing Wednesday. Her case will, therefore, be handled by the grand jury. Buckner’s preliminary hearing had been scheduled for Thursday.
Renz’s case was bound over to the grand jury last Thursday, Feb. 11, after a preliminary hearing with Judge Frank Ardis.
Buckner, 58, is Renz’s girlfriend. She was arrested with Renz at a campground in Hohenwald, Tenn. on Thursday, Feb. 4. Both Renz and Buckner are being held for charges on receiving stolen property. Renz is wanted in Arkansas for a probation violation; Buckner is wanted in Kentucky for a parole violation.
According to police, the couple were sought in connection with the disappearance of Hudson, who has been missing since July 4. The couple were seen moving out of their house on Spring Street, next door to Hudson, on the same day she was last seen, authorities said.
On Sunday, Feb. 7, authorities found human remains they believe to be Hudson. However, Richland County Coroner’s Office Investigator Tom Stortz said last week they were still working on identifying the remains.
Human remains were found in four different locations throughout Richland County. They are being processed by Dr. Dennis Dirkmaat, a forensic anthropology professor at Mercyhurst University.
