GALION, Ohio — (UPDATE) Taylor Crisman, 18, one of the two men arrested Wednesday in connection with last month’s KeyBank hostage-style robbery, is from Galion.

Crisman’s home address is listed as 584 N. Union St., according to Galion police. Galion Chief of Police Brian Saterfield said Crisman has a history in the Crawford County Juvenile Court system.

The other man arrested with Crisman Wednesday, after a traffic stop in Galion, is Chris Hill. The 23-year-old has an address listed in Cleveland, Ohio. According to court records, Hill has two traffic citations; one from Crawford County and one from Galion.

The duo were taken into custody after a traffic stop at the Circle K gas station in Galion, according to authorities. The arrests were made by agents from Cleveland Division of the FBI, Mansfield and Canton resident offices, along with officers from the Ontario Police Department and Richland County Sheriff’s Office.

“The FBI commends the media and the public for helping to identify the individual who terrorized a KeyBank employee and his young family overnight,” said special agent in charge Stephen Anthony. “Crisman and Hill underestimated the collaborative efforts of law enforcement and the community.”

KeyBank Investigation

Chrisman and Hill are being held in connection with a Nov. 5 incident in which a KeyBank employee and his family were held hostage at gunpoint overnight. On Nov. 6, the employee was ordered to drive to the bank and bring back between $100,000 and $200,000. Meanwhile, the family, which included his wife and two children, were held at the home, authorities were told.

“The one thing that these violent criminals did not count on was the incredible work of the FBI, the Ontario Police Department and the Richland County Sheriff’s Office,” said United States Attorney for the Northern District of Ohio Steven Dettelbach.  “Now they will pay the price at the bar of justice for that oversight.”

The FBI released a sketch on Nov. 23 of one of the suspects and said another drove a tan-colored Ford Taurus, a 2008 or 2009 model most likely.

Crisman was placed into federal custody based on a federal arrest warrant obtained this week. Crisman was transported to Akron Wednesday. Hill is currently being held on probable cause charges in the Richland County jail and will be federally charged Thursday.

According to an FBI press release, evidence has been obtained at various locations where the two individuals have recently resided, including a fedora hat and bandana believed to be worn by Crisman while he held hostage the family of the KeyBank employee. Authorities also recovered a .38 caliber handgun believed to be used by Crisman.

The investigation is still ongoing. Check back here for updates.
