MANSFIELD, Ohio – In what has become an annual tradition, Friendly House is hosting its week-long clothing giveaway through the end of this week at its location at 380 Mulberry St.
Those in need of clothes can search through the selection of clothing from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday.
Brianna Sammataro, program coordinator at Friendly House, said there are clothes for all sizes from infants to adults. Several rows of tables filled with clothing lined the Friendly House gymnasium, waiting to find a new home.
Sammataro emphasized that this is a free giveaway that is open to all members of the community. No ID is required, but those who want to look through the clothing are asked to sign in.
Sammataro said people can come and get clothes any time of year, but the Friendly House always helps a lot of people this week every year.
“We normally have 200 to 300 people come through each year in just this week alone,” she said.
The event is timed to take place around the start of the school year.
Sammataro said donations are always appreciated.
Friendly House, a United Way agency, is a community center that has been serving Richland County since 1899 and at its present site since 1949.
