BELLVILLE, Ohio—Thursday brings another First Thursday to Bellville. It also brings the Jimmy Warner Band.

First Thursday means Bellville merchants will have their stores open until 7 p.m. and will offer special prices or fun activities. Then the Jimmy Warner Band will perform a free concert at the bandstand at 7 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or a blanket and a picnic.

First Thursday is held courtesy of the Bellville Revitalization Group and The Clear Fork Valley Chamber of Commerce.

The Jimmy Warner Band’s music has been described as energetic rock, southern rock, and blues. Songwriter and guitarist Jimmy Warner takes center stage; and the band includes Jimmy Warner (lead vocals/guitar), “Doctor” Nick Clay (lead guitar), Adam Hansen (drums), and Fred Anderson (bass/vox).

In an interview for a Downtown Mansfield concert Warner said before he started the band, he remember a late night watching a clip of Eric Clapton playing “Crossroads” and remember thinking, ‘I gotta do that.’’

“This was something I was born to do,” said Warner.

When they recorded an EP called “What I Know,” Warner said the album aimed to get across a message of truth.

Musically he said his two most significant influences are the Eagles and Bob Seger. Much like his influences, Jimmy Warner’s band highlights themes of the simple pleasures found in nature.

On Friday they will perform at Bucks Bar & Grill in Lexington from 6-9 p.m.

Then on the Fourth of July the band will perform a pre-fireworks concert at Riverside Park in Loudonville. Fireworks will begin at dusk and the event is free and family friendly.
