BELLVILLE, Ohio–The village of Bellville saw increased traffic on Thursday with the beginning of the communitywide garage sales.

The garage sales event, which continues through Saturday, is sponsored by the Bellville Merchants’ Co-op. But that’s just one of the many summer events that will attract visitors to the community.

A free concert will be held Saturday, June 20 at the Bellville bandstand. One of a series sponsored by the Clear Fork Valley Chamber of Commerce, Saturday’s concert will feature New Vision at 7 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets for seating.

The gospel group consists of Trae Turner, his sister Whitney Smith, and their uncle Jeff Burton. The group was formed in Butler where the family began singing together in church, and they’ve seen a number of radio singles make the Singing News Top 80 Gospel Chart.

July 2 will bring First Thursday to town with downtown Bellville businesses offering specials, discounts, and freebies. And visitors can take a picnic in the park and listen to the sounds of local musician Jimmy Warner and the Jimmy Warner Band for another concert in the Bellville Summer Concert Series. The band performs songs that fit a variety of genres including classic rock and country rock.

The Summer Street Mart and Sidewalk Sale will draw visitors to Bellville on July 11. Vendors will fill the park and village green from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Downtown businesses will also be open for the chamber of commerce sponsored event.

Then on July 18, Main Street will shut down for the annual Cruise-In. Cars and vehicles line the street and surround the bandstand. Food vendors will also be available.

Finally, another of the Summer Concert Series will be held at the bandstand on July 25 with the AFM Big Band at 7 p.m.
