MANSFIELD, Ohio –Mansfield can find health and beauty in the Carrousel District with both Vitality Natural Wellness and Med Spa and Bankz Salon & Spa now open for business. Bankz opened its doors in early May and Vitality in late January.
Although Dr. Melissa McRae, of Vitality, and Andi Hale, of Bankz, co-own the former Key Bank building, each business is entirely separate from the other.
“With the salon opening, that’s great that now the whole building will actually have some activity,” said McRae. “When people are coming to feel good or feel better, knowing there are more services right in the next doorway is a great interplay.”
Vitality Natural Wellness and Med Spa
Vitality Natural Wellness and Med Spa offers non-surgical cosmetic procedures, such as Botox, chemical peels, and dermal fillers, as well as a full line of wellness options including hormone optimization and I.V. nutritional therapy.
McRae also offers basic healthcare services for adults and children, but does not accept insurance. She noted this allows lower overhead costs and affordable care.
She noted that two nurse practitioners would be joining Vitality sooner than originally planned. “It’s getting nice and busy,” explained McRae, “I didn’t think I would need someone so soon.”
Vitality will soon offer Power Yoga, Barre classes, and children’s exercise programs beginning the first Saturday in June. Those interested should contact Vitality for more information or to register for the classes.
When asked about Vitality’s most popular services, McRae replied, “I.V. Nutrition Therapy has gotten a lot of interest, specifically the ‘Hangover Relief’ infusion. Tattoo removal is also going well.”
Bio Identical Hormone Therapy has been popular, as well, noted McRae, with patients traveling to Vitality from outlying areas of Ohio for the service.
Bankz Salon & Spa
Bankz Salon & Spa is a full-service salon and spa that offers clients a chance to “experience the glitz and glamour without breaking the bank.”
The building underwent extensive renovations before the business opened. “Everyone’s amazed,” said Hale. “Everyone should come check out the building.”
“Everyone needs to experience the grandness of this building, let alone the services we offer,” said Bankz Manager and Salon Coordinator Stacie Guill.
In addition to the services offered at Bankz, the architecture of the building is an attraction, with clients requesting to take wedding photos in the vault of the former bank. Hale said the salon offers wedding packages and is happy to have clients do photos on site.
Bankz offers a full line of services, from facials, massages, tanning, waxing, and nail services, to a wide variety of hair styling, including extensions. “We are a total spa; we give the complete package. We offer everything,” said Guill.
When asked which services were the most popular, Guill replied, “Our spa services are definitely the most popular, which are essential pedicures and manicures, facial services and massage services.”
A unique feature of the salon is the “Blowout Stage,” which offers styling services named for the downtown area: The Renaissance, The Carrousel, The Park Avenue, Downtown Third & Main, and Uptown Girl.
Both Hale and McRae are happy to be part of downtown Mansfield.
“We have gotten some great feedback from being in downtown, some really great support,” said McRae, “It’s cool to be downtown.”
“We’re very excited to be in the downtown area,” said Hale. “We’re getting to know the downtown people and the area.”
Hale said the salon still needs a few finishing touches, and she is currently hiring stylists with full clientele to add to the present staff of 10.
The salon is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Both businesses are located at 42 N. Main St., with Vitality located in Suite B via a separate entrance.
