FREDERICKTOWN, Ohio–Clear Fork crossed the finish line first at the Fredericktown Invitational. Nine teams participated last Friday; and with district tournaments starting May 19, the event helped keep teams limber. But the Freddies knew their track and finished in second place with Highland and Loudonville nearly tied for third.

Clear Fork won in both the boys (166) and the girls (157) categories. Fredericktown’s girls (126) were the runner up for the girls. And for the boys, the Highland Scots (137) were the runner up.

Clear Fork Lady Colts Coach Judy Golden congratulated both the girls’ and the boys’ teams and noted the top winners.

Winning for the Lady Colts were Lauren Callen in the 100 hurdles, Briana Brauchler in the 100 dash, Maija Johnson in the pole vault. In the 800 and 400 relay the Lady Colts team of Elizabeth Staab, Brittany Hart, Lauren Callen, and Briana Brauchler won the event.

Winner for the boys’ were Stuart Brenkus in the 100 hurdles and pole vault, Nate Tipul in the 300 hurdles and Eric Jackson in the shot put and discus.

The remaining schools at the invitational included, for the girls, Mount Vernon girls (67), Loudonville (86), Centerburg (53), East Knox (40), St. Peter’s (30) and Danville (15). For the boys, after Clear Fork and Highland, the Freddies finished in third place with 117, Loudonville was fourth (83), then Centerburg (60), East Knox (51), St. Peter’s (22), Danville (15) and Mount Vernon (6).
