MANSFIELD, Ohio – State Treasurer Josh Mandel was represented at Relax, It’s Just Coffee on Friday afternoon by Dan Risko. Mandel’s regional representative was available to answer questions posed by community members.

“We like to be transparent with the community. We do this every month throughout the state, usually we go to libraries and public spaces like coffee shops,” said Risko.

Mandel was elected State Treasurer in 2010 after defeating Democrat Kevin Boyce. He was re-elected in 2014, defeating Rep. Connie Pillich (D). According to his website, under his leadership Ohio’s financial ranking has improved from 43rd in the country in 2011 to now 7th in the country.

Risko said the office hours usually attract community members with specific questions. “Generally a few constituents stop by to ask a question, some questions are policy related and I connect them with the right resource,” he said. He also has packets of information to hand out to individuals interested in learning more about Mandel’s office.

Risko is one of eight representatives for Mandel. He serves Mansfield, Canton and Ashland areas.

“We also just like to help out small, local businesses from time to time. Relax is a great place,” Risko said.
