Michael Morone, 66, of Mansfield, died January 4, 2015. Born April 5, 1948 in Grove City, OH, he was the son of Joseph Frank Morone and Kathryn Parkinson Heck. Mike worked as a tool and dye maker for several local companies and retired from General Motors in 2009. In his free time, he enjoyed watching Ohio State sports, woodworking, and planting flowers with his wife, Kim. Mike was a member of United Auto Workers 549, Columbus Eagles, and Masons and Shriners organizations.
He is survived by his wife of ten and a half years, Kimberly (Backensto) Morone; daughters, Andrea Morone and Michelle (Jerry) Bickel; step-children, Josh (Mikke) Buzzard, Heather (Chris) Carney, Theresa (fiancée Eric Lewis) Thompson, David (Tiffany) Kostelnik, and Ronald (Chris) Kostelnik; grandchildren, Shawn and Amanda Bickel; step-grandchildren, Natalee and Nicholas Buzzard, Mackenzie, Alex, and Emma Carney, Kyle and Rick Thompson, Kearsten, Megan, and Matthew, and Justin, Jacob, and Jeremy Kostelnik; great-grandson, Sage; brother, David Heck; mother-in-law, Linda McGinty; father-in-law, Don Backensto; numerous brothers and sisters-in-law; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Along with his parents, Mike was preceded in death by his step-father, Mickey Heck and two brothers, Dale and Mark Heck.
