Thomas A. Perry

Thomas A. Perry, age 90, of Shelby, died Saturday, November 29, 2014 at the Ohio Veterans Home in Sandusky.

Tom was born on August 22, 1924 in Morehead, KY, the son of the late John Cy and Mary Belle (Wooten) Perry. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during WWII. Tom worked at Chrysler Boat in Shelby until its closing and then opened his own boat repair shop. Tom was a talented musician and would play and sign gospel music at Crestwood Care Center and the former Heritage Care Center in Shelby. He enjoyed mowing and taking care of his large lawn. 

Tom is survived by: 3 daughters: Betty (Richard) LaBarge of Shelby, Maxine Fellows of Sulphur Springs, Mary (David) Funkhouser of Willard; 12 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by: his wife of 50 years, Alline (Felty) Perry on December 15, 1995; a son: Thomas L. Perry in 1999; son-in-law: Tom Fellows; 6 sisters; 10 brothers. 

Family and friends are welcome on Friday, December 5, 2014 from 12-1 p.m. at the Turner Funeral Home, 168 West Main Street, Shelby, where funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. with Pastor Jimmy Thompson officiating. Military honors conducted by Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail and burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Stein Hospice.
