State Senator Larry Obhof (R–Medina) recently announced the appointment of Bridget T. McDaniel of Richland County, Ohio to serve as a member of the Federal Military Jobs Commission. The commission is charged with developing and maintaining an ongoing strategy for retaining federal military agencies and missions and associated private sector jobs within the State of Ohio.

The Ohio Senate, where Obhof serves as the Senate Majority Whip, is allotted 3 appointments to the commission.

“The 179th Airlift wing – located in Mansfield – plays a significant role in our nation’s defense and disaster readiness capabilities, and is a large part of the local economy,” said Obhof. “It is important for the region to be well represented on the military jobs commission and I am proud to have a Richland County native on the panel to represent us.”

McDaniel currently serves as the Executive Director of the Richland Community Development Group (RCDG), where she is responsible for economic and community development activities for the county. RCDG is the primary point of contact for economic development in Richland County.

In 2013, McDaniel also initiated the Mansfield Military Affairs Commission, which is charged with promoting the retention of federal assets in Richland County.
