The Richland County Grand Jury handed down 72 indictments this month, including incidents involving a vehicular homicide charge as well as the illegal manufacture of methamphetamine in the vicinity of a school zone and/or juvenile.

Julie Krebs, 23, of Mansfield was indicted on nine counts by the Richland County Grand Jury stemming from an incident on July 22 alleging that Krebs, while turning onto Park Avenue West, struck a motorcycle.

Assistant Prosecutor Emily Piros explained Krebs was charged with three counts of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol, two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide, one count of vehicular homicide, one count of possessing drug abuse instruments, and one count of possession of drugs and driving under suspension.

“Krebs was allegedly turning into the left lane and veered into oncoming traffic, which would have caused the collision,” said Piros.

The victim, 46-year-old Paul Gross, died at OhioHealth MedCentral hospital following injuries he sustained from the accident. Piros stated she could not elaborate on any lab test results that would suggest Krebs had alcohol or drugs in her system at the time of the incident.

Two Mansfield residents Joanne Burns, 46, and Tracy Issac, 38, were indicted for one charge of illegal manufacturing of methamphetamine in the vicinity of a school zone and/or juvenile, one count of the illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for the manufacture of methamphetamine in the vicinity of a school zone and/or juvenile, and two counts of endangering children.

Piros explained the charges stem from reports on Aug. 12 of a possible meth lab at 739 Bowman Street. Officers made contact with the residents, including Issac, Burns and a Lyle Burns. Piros said all three people were present at the residence, but it is unknown whether all three were residing at the residence. Two children were also present at the time.

“Consent was obtained to search the residence, and various items were found affiliated with the manufacturing of methamphetamine,” said Piros.
