MANSFIELD — For area soccer and volleyball teams, the road to the state tournament was mapped out over the weekend.
Boys and girls soccer and volleyball teams had their tournament draws Sunday. Here’s a look at what path area teams will take:
BOYS SOCCER
In Division I, Madison will play at Ashland in a sectional final at 6 p.m. Oct. 13. Mansfield Senior will play either Oregon Clay or Toledo St. Francis in a sectional final at 6 p.m. Oct. 16. Clay and St. Francis on Oct. 13 at St. Francis.
In Division II, top-seeded Lexington will host Sandusky at 6 p.m. Oct. 13 in a sectional semifinal. The Minutemen are ranked 10th in this week’s Ohio Scholastic Soccer Coaches Association state poll. Clear Fork will host Ontario at 6 p.m. Oct. 13 in a sectional semifinal.
In Division III, defending state runner-up Mansfield Christian will host Cory-Rawson or Tiffin Calvert at 7 p.m. for a sectional title. Cory-Rawson and Calvert meet at Cory-Rawson on Oct. 15 for the right to meet the Flames, who are seventh in this week’s OSSCA state poll. St. Peter’s will visit Bluffton at 6 p.m. Oct. 15 for a sectional semifinal match.
GIRLS SOCCER
In Division II, Clear Fork hosts either Edison or Sandusky at 6 p.m. Oct. 16. The Colts are fifth in this week’s OSSCA state poll. Edison and Sandusky play at Edison on Oct. 13. A pair of cross-county showdowns will be Oct. 13 when Ontario hosts Mansfield Senior and Madison hosts Lexington. Both games start at 6 p.m.
Division III features a cross-town rivalry when St. Peter’s hosts Mansfield Christian at 6 p.m. Oct. 14. Also in Division III, Crestview is at Upper Sandusky at 6 p.m. Oct. 14.
VOLLEYBALL
The Division II sectional features a pair of Richland County grudge matches when Madison hosts Ontario and Lexington welcomes Clear Fork. Both matches are at 6 p.m. Oct. 15. The winner of the Lexington/Clear Fork match will play Shelby on Oct. 18 at a site to be determined. Galion will entertain Sandusky at 6 p.m. Oct. 15.
In Division III, Crestview will host Genoa. A date and time have yet to be determined.
In Division IV, Mansfield Christian visits Lucas, while Plymouth hosts Danbury and Crestline visits Colonel Crawford. All three matches are set for 6 p.m. Oct. 16.
