Kindred at Home, formerly Signature Health Services, celebrated 10 years of business Tuesday with a ribbon cutting and a visit from Mansfield Mayor Tim Theaker.

“We want to continue to provide quality care and meeting the healthcare needs of the individuals we serve,” said Teresa Wilkins, branch director at the 1092 Lexington Ave., Mansfield address.

The home health care business offers an opportunity, for people who are homebound or who can benefit from staying in their home versus going into a nursing home, to stay in their residence while receiving care from a Registered Nurse, Licensed Nurse Practitioner or a Home Health Aide. Various kinds of therapy are offered, along with medical social work and coordination of medical equipment, diabetes supplies, oxygen and respiratory supplies.

According to the company brochure they “provide assistance with activities of daily living including eating and food preparation, grooming, bathing and personal hygiene.”

“Our goal is to provide care needs for individuals who are at home,” said Wilkins. “We help them live at home independently or with little assistance to prevent them from going into a nursing home.”

Jessica Powell, community relations liaison, said they want to be “the number one skilled care company in the community.”

“Ultimately we are looking at developing more clinical programs to again, aide the individuals we serve so they can stay at home and manage their health conditions,” Wilkins added.

Wilson said she is very proud of the organization’s accomplishment of being in local business for 10 years.

“You definitely have to have that compassion piece of being willing to serve others and that has been our ultimate mission,” she said. “So we are very proud of where we have come, how we’ve grown and the quality of care we provide to the community.”

After the ribbon cutting, Theaker congratulated Wilkins and the staff on their commitment to quality healthcare in the community.

“We have an aging community,” he said. “So your work is valued and needed.”
