Entrepreneur Joseph Daniels III, better known as Style Guy, explained that style is simply knowing what to wear, when, and how to wear it. “I believe every guy has at least one occasion in his life that requires him to look his best,” said Daniels, “and Style Guy makes looking good look easy.”
Daniels founded Style Guy Wardrobe Consulting earlier this year after many years of experience in the men’s clothing industry.
Daniels said he realized that what he loved most about the men’s clothing industry was assisting customers in finding exactly the look they needed. “There was never a situation where a guy walked in and I had no clue what to do,” he said. “As soon as I heard his story, instantly I knew what he needed.”
Daniels said he found a way to extrapolate that part of the business and Style Guy Wardrobe Consulting was born. “It’s true consulting,” he said, noting that the whole world is now a client’s closet.
Daniels explained that Style Guy services are affordable and varied. Services begin at just $99 and can range from assisting a client in proper attire for a job interview to dressing for a special occasion.
“The first thing I do is review what you have. A lot of the times there is something in your closet that already works; it just needs some tailoring, or you need to rethink how you want to use it. If I can’t find what we are looking for there, then we actually go shopping.”
“It’s a respect thing, dressing properly for an occasion,” said Daniels.
One of Style Guy’s many services includes coordinating the entire groom’s side of a wedding. “People don’t realize how comprehensive it is,” said Daniels. From deciding whether to rent or buy, color coordination, and fit, Daniels said that Style Guy can help.
It’s not just price that decides where to rent wedding attire, he noted, but which company can best accommodate the wedding party. Daniels noted that he has previously managed both of the major tuxedo rental companies in the Mansfield area, and therefore is well equipped to answer questions.
Style Guy can also assist in putting together a custom suit. From the style, button selection, lining, color of the suit and even the unseen felt that stiffens the collar, Daniels can assist clients in selecting the perfect, classic suit that will last for many years.
“With me helping you design the suit specifically, you are getting not just a suit that fits,” he said, “you are getting a suit based on what you need.”
Daniels noted that in rare cases, a trendy suit is necessary, but for the most part, a classic style is well suited for many occasions and will last for five to seven years.
When working with clients that simply need alterations, Daniels relies on local tailors for assistance. He noted that, whenever possible, he prefers to use local businesses.
“I love local business, absolutely love it,” he said.
Daniels, a 2001 graduate of Madison High School, noted that when starting a business, it’s best to start where one is from, and that Mansfield is an excellent place to begin.
“If you can make it work in Mansfield, Ohio, you can make it work anywhere,” Daniels said. “Anything you are going to run into in a big city, you get a sampling of it here.”
