Richland Source welcomes diverse and varied opinions which are understood to reflect the opinion of their author.
Examples of content that will cause letters to be rejected include the following: Confusing or unclear points , rude language, disrespectful comments regarding a group’s or individual’s ethnicity, gender, religion, culture, sexual orientation or race.
Richland Source will not knowingly publish factually incorrect information.
Letters written in response to other letter writers should address the issue at hand and, rather than mentioning the writer by name, should refer to the headline and date the letter was published. Discourse should be civil. Letters referring to news stories should also mention the headline and date of publication.
Submitting Letters to the Editor
All letters must be 300 words or less.
The name, address and phone number of the letter writer must be included for verification. No unsigned election letters will be printed.
We limit letters to those written by residents in the election area.
Obvious form-type or campaign-generated letters will be used at the editor’s discretion.
All letters will be edited for AP style and word choice.
We reserve the right to withhold publication of letters that are potentially libelous.
The last day on which election-related letters to the editor will be published for the May 6 Primary is April 30.
