After three generations and 85 years in business Swan Cleaners will close their doors this Friday. The family owned dry cleaning business has been a Mansfield mainstay since 1929. In an interview, current owner Jeff Kent expressed gratitude to the community and especially his customers for their loyalty and support over the years.
The official last day of business will be Friday April 11, 2014. Any remaining items not picked up by Friday will be returned to customers by appointment or other arrangements before the permanent closure of the building.
Commercial clients will not experience an interuption of service as Swan has entered into an agreement with another family-owned company to continue commercial operations. Rentwear, out of Canton, OH, will begin contacting those clients on a one-on-one basis beginning Tuesday. Kent wanted to assure his customers that Rentwear will deliver the same quality of service they have come to expect from Swan Cleaners.
Kent further expressed that the decision to close was a difficult one for the Kent family and they would like to thank the Mansfield community for their love and encouragement at this time.
