More than 200 parents, family and friends attended Tuesday night’s performances of “Peter Pan” and “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” at Lucas Schools. The elementary kids started off with their performance of “Peter Pan” at 7 p.m., followed by the middle school’s production.
Drama Club Advisor Andrea Webb, who is also a seventh grade teacher at Lucas Schools, said the children had been working hard on the plays. “We started working on them in December. The parents made all the wonderful costumes and the kids have given it their all.”
Webb said many of the kids were nervous, but both productions went off without a hitch. “I’m very proud of them,” Webb said of the dedication the children put into their performance.
“Peter Pan” had a large cast of 29 children and “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” required several of their actors to play multiple parts.
Prior to the start of “Peter Pan,” Andrea Webb and Carla Delianides stopped in at the monthly school board meeting to invite the superintendent and other board members to the Lucas Drama Club’s performances.
The drama club puts on one performance each year for the elementary and middle schools.
