The city of Shelby Water Treatment Plant has issued a boil alert for 2nd Street at Flint to Elm, Elm, Kegley and Carefree Estates. According to the Water Treatment Plant, the boil alert is due to a water main break that happened around 10 a.m. on Monday morning. The water was shut off to repair the water main break, and upon turning the water service back on a boil alert must be issued. The boil alert will remain in effect until further notice. In addition, East Main Street from Main to Second Street will be closed for water repair from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 11.
