At approximately 7:43 a.m., Wednesday, the Mansfield Fire Department was dispatched to Clean Water Ltd., a waste water facility located at 81 Knight Parkway. The fire department received mutual aid from the 179th Air Base, and the fire was contained prior to their arrival.
Mansfield Fire Department Assistant Chief Chris Speelman explained that an employee with the facility was discharging fluids into a trench and the fluid caught on fire. The employee was able to contain the fire himself.
Speelman added that the fire didn’t cause much damage but that it resulted in a large volume of smoke.
