On Saturday, Feb. 22, the METRICH Enforcement Unit with the assistance of ASORT, the Mansfield Police Department, and the Richland County Sheriff’s Office served a drug related search warrant at 577 ½ Davidson St, Mansfield, OH.
The METRICH Enforcement unit began an investigation on Thursday, Feb. 21 after four suspected heroin overdoses had arrived at MedCentral Mansfield during an eleven hour time period. The suspected overdoses led to the search warrant.
Detectives located a loaded 38 caliber handgun, crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia, marijuana, ecstasy pills, and seized $989 in cash from the residence. A baggie with an unknown powder was collected as evidence and submitted to the crime lab for testing.
Detectives arrested Depaul Roane, 20, charged with possession of crack cocaine and weapons under disability; Travon Johnson, 22, charged with possession of marijuana; and Kendal Boolman, 25, for possession of marijuana and possession of drugs. All three suspects are from Mansfield. Further charges may be pending upon review of the Richland County Prosecutors Office.
Lt. Porch credited the quick action of detectives in an attempt to combat the heroin epidemic that this community and the METRICH region face.
