The Mansfield Christian Lady Flames (MCS) hosted the Heritage Christian Lady Conquers (Canton) in girls varsity basketball on Thursday night. Down early, MCS stormed back to win, 41-32
The Lady Conquers jumped out to an early 13-4 lead in the first quarter. The Lady Flames responded in the second whittling the lead down to 17-12 at the break. Then the home team caught fire. The Lady Flames outscored their opponents 11-4 in the third and then 18-11 in the fourth to pick up the victory.
The Lady Flames win their third straight to move to 6-10 on the year. The program had just one win against OHSAA opponents. This year all wins have come against OHSAA opponents, marking significant progress for a program with a lone sectional banner in 1996.
Emily Smith piled up 12 points. Katie Ritz followed with 11 point and 11 rebound effort. Addie Daugherty put up 8 points and 3 assists. Allie Maiyer added 8 and 3 steals.
