The Lady Flames of Mansfield Christian (MCS) traveled to Lucas for a Monday night basketball matchup with the Lady Cubs. The road trip yielded the second win in a row for MCS in a 45-24 win.
The Lady Flames leaped out to a 11-3 lead in the first and commanded a 29-10 lead at the half. A strong defensive effort from MCS forced 30 turnovers from Lucas, 19 of the turnovers were steals.
Mansfield Christian also won the battle of the boards by a 28-23 margin.
Emily Smith led the Lady Flames with 12 points and 8 rebounds. Katie Ritz also scored 12 to match the game high. Addie Daughtery put up 7 points and 8 assists. Char Adkins added 6 points and 6 steals.
For Lucas, Paige Sauder posted 9 points. Anna Westfield put up 6 points and six rebounds. Amanda Smollen added 2 points and 6 steals.
Lucas heads to Clear Fork for a non-conference matchup on Tuesday, Feb 4. The Lady Flames will face will host Heritage Christian on Thursday, Feb 6.
