STARTEK is expanding their employee base due to success from their telecommunications provider. STARTEK, an inbound call center for billing, payment, and basic technical support on West Fourth Street, held an open-house interview and hiring exposition on Friday afternoon, January 24.
The applicants were encouraged to “dress to impress” for the interview. The interview process included a guided tour of the facility and a computer assessment with on-the-spot job offers at the end of the day.
In December, the company held a similar open-house interview event that attracted nearly 250 applicants.
“We hire year round, and are only able to do so because our telecommunications provider’s success. Hiring year round is not based on employee turn over. We are looking to expand,” said Director Tom Luther.
According to Luther, STARTEK wants to promote a family culture with a definite career path. With operating hours from 7 a.m. to 1 a.m., providing their employees with a comfortable and fun environment is something the company values. To help foster this environment, the facility features an employee lounge decked with a pool table, a ping-pong table, and comfortable seats with a flat-screen television. In addition to the employee lounge, STARTEK provides a cafeteria with a cyber cafe.
Once hired, employees will undergo a paid training period.
STARTEK accepts applications year round. If individuals are interested in pursuing a career, they can visit STARTEK’s website or call 419-528-7800. Their office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Another open-house style interview day will be held in the middle of March.
