The Mansfield Senior High Lady Tygers edged past the Ontario Lady Warriors in a swim meet on Tuesday evening. The Lady Tygers scored 88 points, while the Lady Warriors tallied 80 points. However, the boys of Ontario dominated Mansfield Senior by scoring 117 points, while the Tygers gathered 50 points.
The Lady Tygers started the evening off with a win in the 200 yard medley relay ticking in at 2:05.81. Members of the relay were Danielle Boddy, Tobie Zeller, Grace Haring, and Sammie Lehman. After their win in the relay, each member of the relay continued with their winning streak. Haring was victorious in the 200 yard individual medley with a time of 2:28.86 and the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:08.98. Zeller won the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:10.04 and the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:11.86.
Lehman dominated both the sprint and distance freestyle events winning the 50 yard freestyle with a time of 28.32 and the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 6:27.48. Boddy pulled off a victory in the 100 yard backstroke with a time of 1:12.65. Lady Tyger Liz Wolfe won the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 1:04.00. The Lady Warriors edged past the Lady Tygers in the 200 yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:58.13. Members of the relay included Allison Chelski, Casi Sheppard, Alaina Merkel, and Emily Toth.
On the boy’s side, the Warriors captured victory in the pool. The Warriors began the evening with a win in the 200 yard medley relay with a time of 1:49.12. Relay members consisted of Tyler Watson, Donovan Ruckman, Chad Wright, and Naz Thachenko. Thachenko won the 200 yard freestyle with a time of 2:01.92 while, Wright and Ruckman went one-two in the 100 yard backstroke. Wright ticked in with a time of 59.70 and Ruckman with 1:09.74.
Warrior Andrew Jolley won the 500 yard freestyle with a time 5:43.10 and teammate Ali Hussain won the 100 yard breaststroke with a time of 1:24.87. Tyger Hutch Blackstone dominated both of his events for the evening winning the 200 yard individual medley with a time of 2:07.46 and the 100 yard freestyle with a time of 50.59. Tyger Drew Weeks was able to capture victory in the 100 yard butterfly with a time of 1:04.51.
To close the meet, the Warriors won the 400 yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:35.19. Members of the relay included Thachenko, Jimmy Sheldon, Watson, and Jolley. The Tygers followed behind with a time of 3:42.96 and members of the relay were Weeks, Coleman Proffitt, Blackstone, and Ethan Luedy.
