The Mansfield/Ontario/Richland County Health Department has announced a series of health screenings to be held in February. Details below.
Senior Screenings
Special health screenings for senior citizens to check blood pressure and blood sugar levels (three hour fast required for blood sugar), will be provided by Mansfield/Ontario/Richland County Health Department nurses at the following dates, locations and times:
Monday, February 3 at the Friendly House 380 N. Mulberry Street, Mansfield, 10 a.m. – noon
Monday, February 3 at the Lucas Village Offices, 101 1st Street, Lucas, 2 – 3 p.m.
Wednesday, February 5 at Butler Adult Senior Center, 20 W. Henry Street, Butler, 8:30 – 10 a.m.
Monday, February 10 at the Masonic Temple, 1240 Middle-Bellville Rd., Mansfield, 9:30 – 11 a.m.
Monday, February 10 at the Lexington Depot (Senior/Civic Center) 67 East Main St., Lexington, 2 – 3 p.m.
Wednesday, February 19 at the Ontario United Methodist Church, 3540 Park Ave. West, Ontario, 11 a.m. – Noon
Wednesday, February 26 at the YWC Senior Center, 1271 Hedges (old Armory), Mansfield 11:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Neighborhood Immunizations
Infants, children and adults can get the shots they need at the Neighborhood Immunization Clinics staffed by public health nurses from the Mansfield/Ontario/Richland County Health Department. Children must be accompanied by an adult/guardian and need an up-to-date shot record and insurance card at time of service. Medicaid and Medicaid Managed Care, Anthem and Medical Mutual cards are accepted. No child is denied vaccines due to inability to pay (donations are accepted). Cost of most children’s vaccines is $20 and then $10 for each additional dose. Pricing for adult vaccine varies.

Community Health Screenings
Free health assessments for all ages at locations close to home. Health assessments include blood pressure and hemoglobin screening, medication counseling and nutrition education. Blood sugar screening requires a three hour fast and cholesterol screening is available with a 12-hour fast ($10 charge).
