“I have always loved fitness and I wanted to have a place where women could feel comfortable exercising,” said Owner of Adeva Fit Lynn Friebel.
Friebel embarked on a journey to open a fitness center in Shelby that was specifically designed for women of all ages. With the support of her husband Edward Friebel, she began in November when she continuously heard from the community about the need for a fitness center for women. Friebel decided to take matters into her own hands.
“This will be all about promoting health and fitness that will lead to a healthy lifestyle. I want Adeva Fit to empower women and give them encouragement to be fit and healthy. I want exercising to become part of their daily routine,’ said Friebel.
Adeva Fit contains a special bio-cushion exercise floor and a body composition scale.
“The bio-cushion floor can help protect against joint damage when you are exercising. Cincinnati Floor Company installed the floor. We will also have a body composition scale that will measure BMI, body fat, fat free mass, total hydration, basal metabolic rate, and weight,” said Friebel.
Personal training and group exercising will be available at the fitness center. “We will be offering studio classes which will include yoga, zumba, and cardio kickboxing. The classes will be for all levels of women, from beginner to advanced. We will have cardio-strengthening equipment and our instructors will be either certified or licensed,” said Friebel.
Lockers will also be available.
Women of all ages are encouraged to join Adeva Fit. Females as young as 13 can join, as long as the individual is accompanied by an adult.
“This is a very exciting time for the women in our community to be able to have a place that they can come and exercise, while still having fun because that is what it is all about,” said Friebel.
Membership will cost $35 a month with five studio sessions and there will be no activation fees. For six months it will cost $190 and for a year it will cost $360.
Advea Fit is located at 210-C North Gamble Street in Shelby. The fitness center is set to open in January.
