A Jan. 9 matchup between the Lady Red Riders of Orrville and Lexington’s Lady Lex went decisively in Orrville’s favor. The visiting team won 59-27.
Lady Lex struggled to put points on the board all game. The Lady Red Riders held a comfortable 23-16 lead at half. In a monster third quarter, the visiting team put up 23 points to Lexington’s 4. Late into the 4th Orrville extended their lead to 57-22.
In the paint, Orrville won the points margin 10-2, the rebound margin by 38-32. The Lady Red Riders also converted 32 Lexington turnovers into 30 points.
For Orrville, Trinniti Hall put up 19 points and 8 rebounds. Kiauna McDuffie followed with 14 points and 5 rebounds. Shamaya Sims pulled down 10 rebounds while adding 3 blocks and 3 points.
Michaela Biddle put up a team high 7 points for Lady Lex. Alex Fitzpatrick added 6 points, 5 rebounds and 2 blocks. Frequent double-double contributor Kelly Rhodes was held to 4 points and 4 rebounds.
In JV action, Orrville topped Lexington 45-15
