The Richland County Sheriff’s Office has issued a Level 1 Snow Emergency for the county. Ashland County is under a Level 1 Snow Emergency. Crawford County remains under a Level 2 Snow Emergency.

Wind Chill Warning and Winter Weather Advisory Extended
Crawford, Erie, Hancock, Huron, Lucas, Richland, Ashland, Marion, Morrow, Knox, Sandusky, Seneca, Wood, Wyandot counties are all under a Wind Chill Warning until 9 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 8.
Temperatures will gradually rise from below zero to around 10 degrees above zero by late Wednesday morning.
The American Red Cross Chapter House at 39 N. Park St. (corner of N Diamond and Park Avenue), Mansfield has opened its doors and will be a warming facility Monday and Tuesday from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. They are open for anyone in need of warm shelter. Details here.
Also, the Grace Episcopal Church, 41 N Bowman Street (SW corner of N Bowman and W 3rd) will open as an emergency warming shelter and remain open continuously through Wednesday morning if anyone needs to get in out of the cold. The Red Cross is providing cots to the church for their use.
The Richland County Juvenile Court will be closed Tuesday, January 7, due to expected cold temperatures. All Court cases, including traffic cases, will be rescheduled for another date and time.
The Detention Facility will hold visitation on its regular schedule. Those with questions may call 419-774-5578 or check with the local media for closings and cancellations.
Also, Richland County Children Services, 731 Scholl Road in Mansfield, is closed today, Jan. 7, due to weather conditions. The agency will re-open Wednesday, Jan. 8, at 8 a.m. Foster parent training scheduled for this evening has been cancelled.
The Richland County Board of Elections, located at 1495 W. Longview Ave. Suite 101, Mansfield, is also closed today.
