The Richland County Sheriff’s office responded to a 911 call to Clever Rd. near Bellville around 5 p.m. on Thursday. When the sheriff’s department arrived, they found a 13-year-old boy unresponsive. The boy was taken to MedCentral Hospital in Mansfield where he was pronounced dead.
The boy’s father reportedly found the child unresponsive in a building that the family referred to as their barn or garage building.
Maj. Joe Masi stated that the department is currently treating the incident as a death investigation. The Richland County Sheriff’s Office and Richland County Coroners office will continue the investigation to confirm the cause of the boy’s death.
