Lexington travelled to Pete Henry Gym for a Thursday night match against the Mansfield Sr. Lady Tygers. The Tygers took care of business at home, winning the OCC matchup 48-31.

Mansfield Sr. controlled the first three quarters. The first three frames went 16-2, 14-12 and 11-3 respectively in the home team’s favor. After entering the quarter down 41-17, Lexington posted a solid 4th scoring 14 points to the Tyger’s 7.

Lexington’s Kelly Rhodes posted another double-double for Lady Lex. For the night, she posted 12 points, 10 rebounds, 1 assist and a blocked shot.

For the Tygers, Naya Penders put up a game high 13 points. Erica Johnson contributed 7 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists and Jeryn Reese patrolled the post, pulling down 13 rebounds.

Lexington grabbed 38 rebounds to Mansfield Sr.’s 40, but the Lady Tygers converted 12 second chance points and 18 points in the paint. To counter, Lexington converted just 4 second chance points and 6 points in the paint. 

The JV game also went to the Tygers, 35-21.

Up next, Lady Lex will host Marion Harding at 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 21. The Lady Tygers will wait until Dec. 27 to travel to Fransican Activity Center for a 7 p.m. matchup with the St. Peter’s Lady Spartans.
