The Madison Rams traveled to Lexington High School for a Saturday night matchup in girls varsity basketball. The Lady Rams emerged with an OCC league win, topping Lady Lex 70-54.

The game was tight through three quarters. At half, Madison led by a single point, 32-31. Going into the final frame they had only added two to the margin and lead 45-42.

In the fourth, Madison ran away. The green and white posted a 25 point outburst to Lexington to 12 points. 

Madison got great numbers out of two players. Mekaila Grose posted 22 points and 9 rebounds for the Rams. Fantasia Hood posted her second strong outing of the week and added 21 points from the wing.

On Lexington’s behalf, Kelly Rhodes posted a double-double, sinking 25 points and pulling down 12 rebounds. In fact, Lexington controlled the boards, winning the battle of the paint 40-33. Lex also converted 24 second chance points to Madison’s 14.

The teams tied in turnovers (20-20), but Madison cashed in for 18 points off of errors while Lexington converted just 8.

On the season, Lady Lex slips to 1-5; Madison improves to 5-2.

Up next, Madison travels to Wooster on Dec. 19. Lexington travels to Mansfield Senior.
