In accordance with the Christmas season, the United Way of Richland County is partnering with the Richland Mall to host the 12 Days of Christmas, in which participants could enter to win a $500 Richland Mall gift card.
Individuals wanting to participate need to purchase a $1 game card at the Richland Mall office or customer service desk or the United Way office.
Participants have to search the Richland Mall to find all of the “icons” that are listed on the game card. United Way Community Outreach Coordinator April Hedrick said, “We took the ‘12 Days of Christmas’ song and took some of the characters from the song and placed the characters throughout the mall.”
Once the items are found, the participant’s name will be placed in a drawing, which will be held on Dec. 13. The winner will receive a $500 Richland Mall gift card.
“We’re hoping to see participation from several children and with that, parents will have the opportunity to teach their children on the importance of United Way and helping people in their community. It gives the children a sense of involvement and the need for charities,” said Hedrick.
She added, “Also, by having the Richland Mall on board with this event, it shows community involvement for reaching our goal of $1,650,000.”
This event began on December 1 and ends on December 12. The proceeds will benefit United Way.
