On Thursday morning, the Richland County Board of Elections certified the results of all but two elections. The Crestline Exempted and Lucas School board elections are both slated for recounts on November 27.
The final official count for the election was 22,304. This number is 229 higher than the unofficial results and includes 29 absentee and 200 provisional ballots. This total resulted in a voter turnout of 25 percent of registered voters.
The board signed and confirmed the official results.
Changes to the office hours for the board of elections were approved to accommodate the holiday schedule. The day after Thanksgiving will be traded for Columbus day and the office will close at noon on Christmas Eve. Staff will take vacation time to compensate for the early closure that day.
February 5 is the filing deadline for the next election and the next board meeting will be held on November 29 at 9 a.m.
