Tuesday night’s OHSAA Division III District semifinal tournament action pitted Liberty-Benton High School against the Mansfield Christian Flames at Findlay High School. After battling Eagles to an even score at half, the Flames could not hold off a second half charge and fell 3-1.
Junior Zoe Young brought the plane of the goal in the first half but that would be it for a Flames offense who managed to match Liberty 7-7 on shots on goal.
Liberty-Benton converted 3 of their 7 to pull away.
MCS’s Madison Kiliany turned way the other 4 shots on goal. The Eagles’ Kaitlyn Hanrahan would tally 6.
Liberty-Benton improves to 16-0-1, 8-0-0 on the season and moves on to face Mt. Blanchard Riverdale in the Findlay District final match.
The Flames wrap up their season, going 11-5-2 on the year.
