One of the most frequently asked questions from our audience has been either “Do you guys have an app?” or the alternative, “I couldn’t find your app in the app store.”
The answer is yes, but first, we need to clarify.
The app is technically not an app. It’s a shortcut to your home page. However, after the shortcut is installed; it appears as an icon on your phone and our mobile site code is written to function and interact like an app. We can see how that might be confusing. You won’t find it in the app store, but you probably won’t notice a difference.
Installing it to your iOS device, however, is a short, four step process, one that we hope to make even easier.
The version of the phone pictured is operating on iOS 7. Previous versions will use the same buttons and steps.
The first step to getting the app is to open it in the Safari browser. After typing www.richlandsource.com into your URL bar, you should get a screen that appears like this.
If the grey prompt fails to appear, you can still press the same button below. You’ll want to press the “action” button or “that box and arrow icon.”
Up next is the first step of installation. This should appear after pressing the action icon. Press the “Add to Home Screen” option.
Your iPhone will prompt you to name how it appears on your home screen. Richland Source will be the default, and most folks keep it that way, but who are we to stifle your creativity? Hit the add and move on to the next step.
Our purple “S” icon will appear on the next available space on your home screen. Click and browse at your leisure.
Congratulations! You have the Richland Source at your fingertips. You will be able to browse and navigate all local news with ease.
Android users we have an article specific to installing it on your phone click here: http://www.richlandsource.com/news/article_a113de2c-2720-11e3-bfc4-0019bb30f31a.html
