Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo is collecting donations for disaster relief following the flooding that has affected several cities in Colorado in recent weeks. Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo will direct 100 percent of all donations to Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Denver.
The Denver agency is currently assisting victims with immediate relief and the allocation of resources on a case-by-case basis. Donations will be used to purchase immediate supplies for flood victims and for long-term recovery. The agency currently has three distribution sites open in three cities in northern Denver and is working with local parishes to open more sites in other parts of the state. “We are trying to get information out that help is available,” says Chuck Sullivan, vice president of administration for Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Denver.
Donations for Colorado flood victims may be sent to or dropped off at Catholic Charities, 1933 Spielbusch Ave., Toledo, OH 43604. Checks should be made out to Catholic Charities Diocese of Toledo and include Colorado Flood Relief in the memo line. Donations may also be made by credit card by calling 419-244-6711, ext. 218.
Catholic Charities serves 51,000 people of all backgrounds in the Diocese of Toledo annually by providing food, shelter, prescription and emergency rent assistance as well as adoption services, jail and prison ministries and guardianship services to the elderly.
