Following the discussion at the commissioner’s meeting, Bill Baker joined approximately 20 other citizens who demonstrated their concern about the fracking issue at Central Park in Downtown Mansfield.
Baker stated that this rally was meant to serve as the kickoff to the campaign, “Say ‘No’ To Fracking Waste in Richland County.”
With his organization, Frack Free Ohio, they are also circulating a countywide petition and engaging community members in a survey of three questions to show support for the requests that were asked of in the commissioners’ meeting.
Baker intends to meet weekly for about a month at Central Park to continue demonstrating their concern about fracking.
“It’s pretty exciting,” he said. “I feel like we had two successful actions today with the commissioner’s meeting and the rally.”
In reference to the rally, he stated, “There were lots of honks and waves, and I would say it was about 95 percent positive feedback.”
