Downtown Mansfield, Inc. will present the final installment of the 2013 Final Friday Concert Series on Friday, August 30. Show begins at 5 p.m. at The Brickyard and will include entertainment by Coal Fired Bicycle, DeVault Ridge Band and Gatlin.

The show will begin with Coal Fired Bicycle, taking the stage at 5 p.m., Devault Ridge Band at 6 p.m. and Gatlin at 8 p.m.

Coal Fired Bicycle is an indie rock/Americana band from Columbus, Ohio with roots in Johnny Cash country, Bob Dylan folk, The Jesus and Mary Chain and The Clash.

DeVault Ridge members Dan and Amanda DeVault have put together a compelling band with over thirty years of music experience. Songs range from new covers including hits by Lady Antebellum and Steel Magnolia with traditional country classics by Garth Brooks and Randy Travis.

Gatlin rounds out the evening at 8 p.m. with harmonies provided by Darryl and Andrea Gatlin. Performing over 150 shows per year, the duo delivers the audience with an eclectic mix of R&B, pop, country and other genres.

The Brickyard is located on Temple Court in the historic Carrousel District. Concerts are free and open to the public. Lawn chairs are encouraged and beverages are available for purchase. The Final Friday Concert series has been made possible via generous contributions from Chuck Hahn, Cleveland Financial Services, MT Business Technologies, North Central State Urban Center and Visiting Nurse Association.

Tonight, Downtown Mansfield, Inc. (DMI) will present the Second Annual Spirit of Downtown Award winners during intermission at the final concert of the 2013 Final Friday Concert Season.

The Spirit of Downtown Awards recognizes individuals and businesses that have helped to make downtown Mansfield great during 2013. Winners in each of the 5 categories were selected through votes by downtown business owners as well as through followers on DMI’s expansive social media network.

Recipients of the Spirit of Downtown Awards include:

  • Michael Miller, President and CEO Renaissance Theatre for his Excellence in Preservation;
  • The Mansfield Playhouse for Best Kept Secret;
  • Relax, It’s Just Coffee for Making Downtown Great;
  • Ed Picken’s Cafe on Main for Outstanding Storefront;
  • The Little Buckeye Children’s Museum for Arts and Culture.
