The METRICH Drug Task Force, with the assistance of ASORT, Mansfield Police Department, Richland County Sheriff’s Office, Ohio Highway Patrol, and the US Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force, conducted a countywide drug sweep on Thursday, August 22. METRICH and ASORT also conducted two search warrants.
The first search warrant was served at 145 Sturges Ave. Detectives arrested one suspect, who was charged with two misdemeanors and one felony. Detectives seized marijuana, heroin, and drug paraphernalia. The second search warrant was served at 1187 Burger Ave. Detectives arrested three suspects. Detectives seized heroin, prescription pills, drug paraphernalia, and cash. There was a small child in the home and Richland County Children Services responded. The child was released to a family member.
Arrested was Michael Marshall, 25, of 145 Sturges Ave, Mansfield. Marshall was charged with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Heroin, Possession of Paraphernalia, and Felony Probation Violation. Wilma Lindsay, 45, of 1187 Burger Ave, Mansfield. She was charged with four counts of Drug Trafficking. Also arrested was Douglas Lindsay, 51, of 1187 Burger Ave, Mansfield. He was charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession of Paraphernalia, and Possession of Drugs. Abraham Lindsay, 21, of 187 Burger Ave, Mansfield, was also arrested. He was charged with Possession of Paraphernalia and Disorderly Conduct.M
METRICH and the US Marshal’s task force are seeking 39 suspects which were indicted with a total of 113 felony charges. Lt. Keith Porch stated that the sweep was a result of many long term drug investigations conducted by METRICH detectives. The US Marshal’s task force has already located 16 suspects in connection to the drug sweep.
