In conjunction with the National Lincoln Highway Buy-Way Celebration, Art in Central Park will take place on Saturday, August 10 from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. at Central Park in downtown Mansfield.
This is the tenth year that Mansfield has participated in this celebration of the historic Lincoln Highway that starts in New York City and ends in San Francisco, California. Ohio is one of the few states along the Lincoln Highway corridor that participates in this celebration by holding yard sales from one community to the next.
Artists have the opportunity to showcase, create, and sell their artwork. Spaces are still available and vendors may setup at 8 a.m.
In addition to the Art in Central Park, First English Lutheran Church at 53 Park Ave West in downtown Mansfield will be hosting a rummage sale in its parking lot on August 8 – 10.
The proceeds of this sale benefit the youth program at the church. In previous years, the money helped fund the youth mission trips and trips to national conventions.
“The kids help collect the merchandise from those who are unable to drop it off for themselves. They also sort the items and help bring them out in the morning and store them away at night,” stated First English volunteer, Joy Jones.
“We look forward to seeing how the older people in the church help the youth by donating their goods and by helping out in the sale, as well. It’s a very supportive environment for the children to be in.”
