On August 5, Commissioners Ed Olsen, Gary Utt, Tim Wert, along with State Representative Mark Romanchuk – District 2 and State Senator Larry Obhof – District 22 marked the Richland County’s bicentennial at the Richland County Fair.
The mid-day ceremony in Fairhaven Hall featured proclamations from Romanchuk and Obhof, honoring the county for reaching the milestone.
“I think it’s a tremendous milestone for the area to hit. I think the county has a lot to be proud of.” Obhof said. He added that he hoped the ceremony would serve to celebrate the county’s 200th birthday “Remind the people of how special they are.”
“I think we have such a rich history,” said Romanchuk, “We have a great foundation to go another 200 years plus.”
