The Richland Community Development Group focuses significant resources on improving the viability of the companies currently located in the county. It is a proven fact that 80 percent of a community’s job growth comes from those companies already located there.
One of the unique tools that RCDG has available this year is a pool of funds to assist in offsetting the cost of company consultations with either the Northeast Ohio Trade and Economic Consortium (NEOTEC) or The Manufacturing Advocacy and Growth Network (MAGNET). These valuable organizations can assist local companies with a variety of consultative services aimed at improving the bottom link.
The Michael Byrne Manufacturing took advantage of these funds last year. Jim Weist, CEO, stated that “RCDG worked with Michael Byrne to acquire funds to offset the costs for consulting with NEOTEC on a particularly challenging export project. We found the process with RCDG extremely helpful and suggest other manufacturers give them a call if they need assistance. RCDG is a great resource for our area.”
Northeast Ohio Trade and Economic Consortium (NEOTEC) work to promote domestic and international trade and global competitiveness. NEOTEC can offer in-depth “executive on loan” and one-on-one training services to companies ready to begin exporting or those who are already exporting and want to expand their export activity.
The program, staffed by seasoned international trade professionals, is designed to help companies accelerate their entry or expansion into new international markets by lowering the initial costs and providing the background information necessary before the company commits significant resources.
The Manufacturing Advocacy and Growth Network (MAGNET) senior business consultants help manufacturers achieve bottom-line efficiencies and increased productivity through process-improvement projects. Consultants and engineers also help companies grow top-line sales through new-product development and market diversification strategies.
