Aces can fill an appetite with a single potato, and they recently filled their parking lot for their grand opening. Restaurant chefs and owners Lucky Bezak and Gino Antonelli hail from the Cleveland area and bring the community a history of community engagement.
The Aces Bar & Grille menu features items like the Ace of Spuds and the Prime Rib Spud. The Seven Card Spud Menu offers choices that fills the size of a small plate and the menu includes seven stuffed varieties on the menu.
Bezak and Antonelli opened their first Aces in 2008. In their five year history, they have opened five more locations and now they’ve come to Mansfield.
Vicky Bishop runs the Cleveland based Aces Bar and Grille. “It has worked well so far,” Bishop said. “They’re known for mass quantity.” Bishop spoke more to the chain’s community-minded business model, “With the economy the way it is, we cater free of charge. We like to do it because Aces is very charitable. We care about the community.”
Inside the restaurant, original marketing plays a prominent role. The founders say if customers pull an Ace from the deck, in the hands of the waitresses, they’ll offer a choice between a free pizza, a ten dollar gift card, or a dessert.
And instead of allotting 5 percent toward traditional media marketing, Bezak and Antonelli invest in their food. Their restaurant and promotions have a gambling theme, but they offer the community the best bet. If it helps an organization or charity, they are sure to donate toward the cause. They will host events for charitable causes as well.
“We could go spend $20,000 on advertising, or we could work, and develop customers, and in making our roots strong.” said Bezak.
