The METRICH Enforcement Unit with the assistance of the Mansfield Police Department, Adult Parole Authority, and the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force executed a drug related search warrant at 34 Stimens Dr, Mansfield on Thursday, July 18. Parole Officers were conducting a home visit of a parolee and upon entering the residence observed two loaded handguns on the couch.

When checking further, parole officers observed a large undetermined amount of cash throughout the residence, and a large trash bag filled with marijuana in the basement. The parolee was placed into custody and the residence was immediately secured for the application of a search warrant.

A search warrant was signed by the honorable Judge Frank Ardis for the residence and was served. Officers located and seized $13,125 in cash, approximately 8 ounces of Heroin with a street value of $33,600, 21 pounds of marijuana with a street value of $42,000, and 10 grams of cocaine with a street value of $1000 found throughout the residence. Four handguns and an assault rifle were also found.

“There was a firearm located in almost every room of the residence,” said METRICH Commander Lt. Keith Porch, “This search warrant was the result of excellent team work of all the agencies involved.

The Parolee Chaz Shifferly was arrested and incarcerated on a felony parole violation and other felony charges will presented to the Richland County Prosecutor’s Office. Officers are seeking several other persons related to this incident.
