Members of the Worker’s Council of Richland Newhope Industries were washing cars Thursday as part of a fundraiser for Newhope activities. The car wash is held annually and it is located at Long John Silver’s parking lot on Park Avenue.
“The money that we raise from these types of fundraisers goes towards activities for Richland Newhope. The money is used for dances and other fun activities for them to participate in,” said Aurelio Diaz, Support Specialist at Richland Newhope. There were about 30 workers that were out participating in the fundraiser.
“This is my first time being here washing cars and I will be back next year,” said Richard McPherson, who is a part of Worker’s Council at Richland Newhope. McPherson also participates in the Garden Club and the Aktion Club at Richland Newhope.
