Larry Stimpert, 75, of Ashland died Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Hospice of North Central Ohio. Born November 11, 1937 in Richland County, he was the son of Frank and Hazel (Boals) Stimpert. Larry retired from AK Steel as a cost accountant after 38 years and also sold real estate. He enjoyed going to auctions and buying and selling antiques. He loved basketball, his “gator” rides, and watching his children and grandchildren in various sport activities.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia (Brubach) Stimpert of Ashland; sons, Fred (Mary) Stimpert, Larry (Cathy) Stimpert II, and Rick (Susan) Stimpert, all of Ashland; grandchildren, Kate, Jake, Kelvin, Troy, Patty, Renee, Anna, Megan, Rachel, Joe, and Nic; sister, Mary Miller of Ashland; sister-in-law, Kay Brandenberg; brother-in-law, Fred Brubach; and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Edwin Stimpert; sisters, Violet Lehman and Dorothy Grauer; and nephew, Robert Stimpert.
Friends may call Friday, July 5, 2013 from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at the Ashland Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 308 Claremont Ave., Ashland. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 6, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home conducted by Rev. Adam Davis. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Olivesburg United Methodist Church or Hospice of North Central Ohio.
