In a letter to employees and school families dated today, St. Peter’s Pastor and School Superintendent Fr. Gregory Hite announced the hiring of Mrs. Madalyn Bauer, M. Ed. of West Salem as their new elementary school principal beginning in the 2013-14 school year.
According to Fr. Hite, “Mrs. Bauer comes to us with a wealth of educational experience and expertise. She holds a Master’s degree in education and is certified in Counselor Education, holds school principal licenses for grades pre-K – 12, and is also a registered nurse.”
Bauer comes to St. Peter’s from Wooster City School district, where she was an associate principal at Wooster High School. Finding her place at St. Peter’s came through a combination of a long-term desire to serve in a Catholic school environment and a little luck. “I was raised Catholic and have always had a desire to someday serve in a Catholic school environment. Back in May I was kind of casually browsing around the web and the opportunity at St. Peter’s jumped out at me. I sent in my resume right away and was fortunate enough to be offered the job”.
After some consideration and encouragement from family members, Bauer decided to make the switch from her role in public education to St. Peter’s. “I was fortunate in that I had the support of family and the right opportunity come together for this decision. My husband, when I asked for his opinion, asked my why in the world I wouldn’t do it since I had been talking about it for years.”
