Mechanics Bank is constructing a new banking office to serve the Clear Fork Valley and has purchased a property on the southeast corner of Main and Ogle Streets in Bellville.
Since that time, the property has been cleared existing structures including a vacant ice cream stand and a structure housing a bar and apartments. Preparations continue as work in Bellville also continues on the Streetscape project for the sidewalks and sewer drains in the village.
“Since the initial announcement of the property purchase, we have been so encouraged by our customers and the community of the Clear Fork Valley,” state Deborah Schenk, Mechanics Bank President. “We are eager for construction to begin. Ultimately, this location will provide the opportunity to interact with our many existing Clear Fork valley customers in ways that will be more convenient for them.”
The new location will create six jobs and marks the eighth Mechanics Bank location in Richland County.
The Clear Fork Valley location will be the third new banking office for Mechanics in a four-year span, following the opening of the Trimble Road office in 2009 in Mansfield and the Shelby office in 2012.
Mechanics Bank is Richland County’s only independent, community bank with seven offices currently in Richland County.
